Involvement Expo

The Involvement Expo will be held on Wednesday, September 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Lory Student Center Plaza.

This year, the Student Involvement Fair and Community Volunteer Expo have teamed up to showcase the diverse array of involvement possibilities with approximately 125 student organizations and 55 community agencies represented at the 1st SLiCE Involvement Expo.

Want to join a student organization or volunteer in the community?  Visit the Involvement Expo to learn more about CSU’s registered student organizations as well as volunteer and service-learning opportunities in the greater Fort Collins community.  Student organizations such as sports clubs, fraternities & sororities, academic councils, and student government will be present as well as local community service agencies like the Larimer County Humane Society, United Way, and Boys & Girls Club.

Student organizations wishing to have a table at the Involvement Expo need to complete a signup sheet and submit it along with the $15 table fee to SLiCE by Friday, August 29, 2008.  If you have questions about the Involvement Expo contact Deanna Leone, Program Coordinator for Student Organizations at (970) 491-6349 or deanna.leone@colostate.edu.

Exciting Opportunities

Ramapalooza
What is Ramapalooza you ask…
Well, Ramapalooza is just one of the many events that occur during Ram Welcome the weekend before classes begin for the fall semester.  During Ramapalooza, the staff of Campus Activities transforms the entire Lory Student Center into a virtual playground for new and transfer students on the evening of Friday, August 22, 2008 from 7 pm to 1 am with a variety of games and activities.  A sample of some of the activities includes: caricature artists, casino games, Wii tournaments, body art, palm reading, recycling a t-shirt into a bag for books and groceries, music, magic, and the list goes on...

How can Student Organizations be involved?
The sunken lounge area on the Main Level of the LSC will have a stage for student groups to showcase their talents to incoming students.  This is a great opportunity for new students to see the depth and variety of student organizations offered at CSU.  Performances can include musical talents, dance, comedy/stand up, improve, or a variety of other talents that groups are willing to showcase during the evening.

Performance slots come on a 1st come basis, so please let contact Deanna Leone in SLiCE at 491-6349 or send an email to Deanna.Leone@colostate.edu by August 1, 2008 if you’re interested.

All-University Picnic
Do you want the opportunity to show off your student organization’s talents to the CSU community?  Why not perform at the President’s Fall Address and All-University Picnic on Thursday, September 11th 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the CSU Oval.
Each group will have the opportunity to perform for 30 minutes among thousands of students, faculty and staff.   For more information, contact: Deanna Leone in SLiCE at 970-491-6349 or email:  Deanna.leone@colostate.edu

**A small honorarium will be given to student organization selected and limited slots available, so sign up soon.

Homecoming and Family Weekend '08
Does your student organization want to be a part of CSU history or find more ways to show-off your CSU pride?  If yes, then consider entering a float in this year's CSU Homecoming and Family weekend parade.  This year's theme is "It's Easy Being Green" and prizes will be awarded for the best floats.  Financial assistance to build floats will be available through ASCSU to purchase supplies and "float building experts" will be available as well!  More information about Homecoming is available at: http://homecoming.colostate.edu/
